About the Surveyor

When purchasing a yacht, understanding the true condition of the vessel is essential. A professional marine survey provides an independent assessment of the structure, machinery and onboard systems, helping buyers avoid costly surprises and make informed decisions.

Steven Truss MIIMS is an independent marine surveyor specialising in the inspection and valuation of sailing yachts, motor yachts and multihulls throughout the Ionian region of Greece. UK based, but also operating primarily in Preveza, Lefkada and the surrounding Ionian Islands, he carries out pre-purchase, insurance and condition surveys for private buyers, yacht owners and marine insurers.

With many years of experience in the marine industry and thousands of vessels inspected, Steven provides practical, impartial assessments based on recognised professional standards. As a member of the International Institute of Marine Surveying, his work follows established codes of practice and reporting procedures.

Survey reports are written in clear, straightforward language so that buyers, brokers and insurers can easily understand the vessel’s condition and any areas requiring attention. The aim is always to provide a thorough, balanced and realistic evaluation of the vessel, together with practical recommendations where appropriate.

Steven regularly surveys vessels at the major yacht centres of the Ionian, including Cleopatra Marina, Aktio Marina, Ionion Marine, Nidri at Konidaris and Lefkas Marina.
