From 1st April 2026, all yacht surveys carried out by Yacht Surveys Greece will be invoiced and operated through a fully registered Greek business, in line with local tax and regulatory requirements.
This marks a natural step in the continued growth of the business, building on many years of experience operating in the UK and Ireland, and from April we will be fully focused on supporting clients across Preveza, Lefkada, Nidri, Corfu and the wider Ionian region.
For clients, this change brings increased clarity, transparency, and full compliance with Greek financial regulations.
What This Means in Practice
All survey work will now be:
Invoiced through a registered Greek business
Submitted through the official digital tax platform (myDATA)
Fully compliant with Greek accounting and reporting standards
Invoices will include all applicable elements such as income tax, social contributions (EFKA), and VAT where required.
Why This Matters for Buyers and Brokers
For those purchasing yachts in Greece, particularly international buyers, having a surveyor operating fully within the Greek system provides additional reassurance.
It ensures:
Clear and compliant invoicing for legal and financial records
Acceptance by brokers, marinas, and associated professionals
Transparency for insurance and valuation purposes
Alignment with Greek commercial practices
Continuing the Same Survey Standards
While the business structure is evolving, the core service remains unchanged.
All surveys continue to be carried out in accordance with International Institute of Marine Surveying (IIMS) Codes of Practice, with detailed, structured reports covering all aspects of vessel condition, safety, and valuation.
The same practical, hands-on approach remains in place, with inspections carried out methodically from bow to stern, supported by clear reporting and prioritised recommendations.
Looking Ahead
This transition to full Greek registration reflects a long-term commitment to operating professionally within the region and providing a reliable, compliant service to both private buyers and commercial clients.
